May 19th is the day to remember. On this Saturday I was privileged to be part of my brothers wedding ceremony as the officiant. After 10 years of dating Aaron and Julie are finally hitched and moving to Durango Colorado together.
The wedding was a great opportunity to reconnect with family and meet more of my brothers friends. More importantly I had the chance the share the Gospel with 30-60 people who were not believers! What an evangelistic opportunity it is to speak in weddings! Of course maybe no one was listening, but then again maybe someone was...
On Saturday I head over to California for a training on support raising. I am assured that it will be an intense training of great preparation. After the "fundraising bootcamp" I will be driving my motorcycle across the country back to Maryland. COme back to read updates on that trip!
Cheers

May Madness
So what about the ministry? On Tuesday I was washing the windows of a guy in his early sixties. His wife had just passed away six weeks before and he had recently developed an interest in theology and the Bible. When he found out that I was a believer in Christ he was excited to ask me why I believed. He asked me how I could believe when there where so many debates and view points. I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to share my faith. By the time I had finished the "job", I had not only cleaned the windows in his home but I had shared my faith and the love of Christ. This is just one of many opportunities I have had and I look forward to many more to come.
Last week I was forced to reveal my past in the most descriptive manner. Carrie and I sat down with a church planter from Los Angelos who was flown in to assess my qualifications for church planting. We spent around nine hours going through my life, my achievements and failures, my thoughts, my dreams, my experiences, and my faith. I was asked question after question and when I couldn't answer Carrie jumped in to help. It was a tiring but encouraging look at how the Lord has designed me and how He is using me. JR was a fantastic interviewer and we were encouraged by him in our walk to plant churches.
To wrap this blog up here are a few highlights of what we will be doing over the next month.
- Carrie's grandmother heads to Martha's Vineyard for the summer on Friday.
- We will be looking for a place to live in Annapolis over the next few weeks.
- Support raising will officially begin, so far we have very little financial support.
- I will be driving to some potential church plant areas with other Pastor's.
- We are beginning our bi-monthly meetings with other church planters.
- Ben is being dedicated on Mother's Day.
- We will be praying about our new baby coming January 1st!!
